And we will be having our first exhibition next month at the Catherine Hickman Theater lobby. Opening reception is February 2nd from 6:00PM - 800PM with the show running through February 21st. <p></p><p>We meet on Wednesday mornings for 2-3 hours to paint in our scenic little community. From the colorful restaurants on Beach Blvd to the sailboats in the bay and palm trees in our parks it's always fun to see everyone's different take on our subjects. </p><p>If you are in the area, I hope you will join us for the reception on February 2nd and see the "Colors of Gulfport" through our paintbrushes (and pastels). </p>N Poucherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01373158255811780232noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16710498.post-24917591366210624242023-11-13T05:32:00.000-08:002023-11-13T05:32:34.837-08:00Pink Palace Tower - Live Painting at the Don Cesar on St Pete Beach, FL<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4VYgnLWWYYXZVLgTKMWZI106ksGBRxkd37WzEsYq6RdTo27dyTuV0_W1DgDzD8aCTSga3SfjT2koEzt97w67Gq07SAMsDnRf6CK000g_GmY6_lSUUr4Ix79zHEGin3plFf1SLlnT3NvWneTptPrJdXC6uV7sJais-F1d68UPYPV7fgEIEYHpUgg/s3006/pink-palace-tower-poucher.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3006" data-original-width="2658" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4VYgnLWWYYXZVLgTKMWZI106ksGBRxkd37WzEsYq6RdTo27dyTuV0_W1DgDzD8aCTSga3SfjT2koEzt97w67Gq07SAMsDnRf6CK000g_GmY6_lSUUr4Ix79zHEGin3plFf1SLlnT3NvWneTptPrJdXC6uV7sJais-F1d68UPYPV7fgEIEYHpUgg/w354-h400/pink-palace-tower-poucher.jpg" width="354" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i>"Pink Palace Tower"</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Soft Pastel on UArt 400 9 x 8"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Do people still write blogs? I just saw that the last time I did was last Spring when I was painting and selling my art at the Don Cesar. Well, I did it again this weekend. Though it was pretty quiet poolside so not a lot of art sales, I did have plenty of time to work on this pastel painting of one of the Pink Palace's towers. It wasn't sunset but I decided to push the colors a bit which gives the piece a nice glow, I think.</div><p></p>N Poucherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01373158255811780232noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16710498.post-53818304072519940882023-05-07T11:43:00.004-07:002023-05-07T11:43:58.003-07:00Sunday at the Don CeSar Weekend Brunch St Pete Beach Pastel Painting by Poucher<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5VGuou5Q7xA-Vztr5a_Ax4Kxp3oBRNUpZxoBsYD3bNiuMkjl5UAwUqGp_5-5ch5xXhhIcK9i2CA47fhXSIiH1lWhM-nRtxY9YtLwyWBxW0cYLz-PbkOuJHnSaRg4WcCE1unWPprPTIKKrJKECs-fKLGC9eAQ3Sf-OERrFolpIFCzDyoXRHYU/s2672/sunday-at-the-don-poucher-art.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2672" data-original-width="2632" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5VGuou5Q7xA-Vztr5a_Ax4Kxp3oBRNUpZxoBsYD3bNiuMkjl5UAwUqGp_5-5ch5xXhhIcK9i2CA47fhXSIiH1lWhM-nRtxY9YtLwyWBxW0cYLz-PbkOuJHnSaRg4WcCE1unWPprPTIKKrJKECs-fKLGC9eAQ3Sf-OERrFolpIFCzDyoXRHYU/w394-h400/sunday-at-the-don-poucher-art.jpg" width="394" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"> <i>"Sunday at the Don"</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">Soft pastel on UArt 400 paper 8x8"</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">This is the second time that I set up a table of my prints and notecards poolside at the Don CeSar through the Suntan Art Center but this time I brought my pastels. Shadows are a second favorite so I was pretty happy to find these palms and Adirondack chairs.</div><div style="text-align: left;">After 2 hours it was getting warm and I lost my shade so headed home. I haven't been posting lately. But, this is why. During the pandemic, I needed a change in order to keep making art. My galleries and other venues where I sold my art were closed and my walls were covered with pastels that weren't selling. So, I wasn't encouraged to make anymore pastels if there wasn't a market. But it did seem to be a good time for experimenting. So...I changed medium and subject! I've enjoyed working with oil and cold wax and the challenge of painting figures. And working on cradled panels is a joy as they don't need to be framed. I still love pastels but right now the challenge of a change feels right. (Oh, and they're selling!)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Looks like a might need to rename my blog! </div><p></p>N Poucherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01373158255811780232noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16710498.post-23036048101759996302020-08-04T12:25:00.007-07:002020-08-04T12:28:18.857-07:00Patience Tri Colored Heron Shorebird Soft Pastel by Poucher<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy3ATgVGhCzzzQWUP4DW85sbjVZ9o675wRZ7NEZXTwao9trAX8qHu_LBGFYEUHF5NIVrInaGOHyax4EeTIHynCRKe7pEsROpguifMsQH9Jfx3ZoFwzASCv4gwQPzy3G1QqG2nszA/s1106/patience-heron-pastel.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1106" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy3ATgVGhCzzzQWUP4DW85sbjVZ9o675wRZ7NEZXTwao9trAX8qHu_LBGFYEUHF5NIVrInaGOHyax4EeTIHynCRKe7pEsROpguifMsQH9Jfx3ZoFwzASCv4gwQPzy3G1QqG2nszA/w410-h296/patience-heron-pastel.jpg" width="410" /></a></div><h4 style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i>"Patience"</i></h4><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Soft pastel on UArt 400 paper 9x12"</i></div><div style="text-align: left;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: left;">I watched this Tri Colored Heron at Wood Ibis Park for a long time.
